What is a Registered Dietitian?

Registered Dietitian (RD) is a professional credential that can be used only by individual who have completed the following steps:

Step 1  — Successful completion of the dietetics academic program at MSU earning a bachelor of science
Step 2  — Completion of a supervised practice experience program accredited by the American Dietetic Association
Step 3  — Pass the national registration examination for dietitians
