Research Interests: 

Food quality, product development and sensory evaluation for plant-based products, including soy beverages, packaging, confectionary, dairy, meat, fish, ingredient suppliers, and fruit and vegetable commodities.

Instructional Activities:

FSC 470 – Food Product Development
HNF 410 – Sensory Assessment of Foods 

Serve as faculty adviser for MSU’s Institute of Food Technologists' Student Division Food Product Development Team

Outreach Focus:

Assist Michigan food industry and entrepreneurs by providing information, testing services, referrals for food product development, sensory evaluation needs and serve as a liaison for food processing and food safety information. Work to establish new value-added products for food industry, including asparagus, autumn berries, chestnuts, fresh apple slices, hard apple cider blends and juice blends. Provide research results to commodity groups through reports and presentations.
